Types of Funding

External Funding for Faculty

people interior

Contracts involve detailed procurement of a product or service with specific sponsor-defined obligations and research methods. Cooperative agreements are similar to grants but include substantial sponsor involvement in research activities. Fellowships provide financial support for individual study or research. Grants fund research or programs with minimal sponsor involvement, offered by government agencies or non-profits. Limited submissions restrict the number of proposals an organization can submit, with internal reviews determining which proposals move forward.
